Lily Smith-Kirkley is a native Texan who finds inspiration in nature, folk art, ancient symbolism, wabi-sabi and tall tales.

She explores shape and color through drawing, painting and linoleum carving. Her creations include letterpress art prints, greeting cards, notebooks and more.

Lily believes that art and design should be accessible, affordable and appreciated through everyday items.

Freelance design, illustration, lettering and new creative collaborations are all welcome!

In 2006 Lily bought her first press, a Vandercook SP-15 proof press, and Lilco was born. Lilco is “lily” plus “company” and it has become the moniker under which she works and markets her services and creations. All Lilco letterpress prints are created in-house and printed by Lily, who lives in Dallas, Texas.

A graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in graphic design, Lily has worked for companies large and small, including Tsang Seymour, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, The Matchbox Studio, Fossil and Banowetz + Co.
