Angered by the anti-abortion law in Texas, SB8, I created this protest poster. DIY protest signs were available for free download and hand-carved and letterpress-printed posters were sold along with t-shirts, sweatshirts, and postcards. All $22,000 raised was donated to Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas.
I attended a large protest in Austin and was humbled to see many people carrying my protest sign. I also received text messages from friends and family at other protests who sent me images of people holding or wearing my design.
A photojournalist from Reuters photographed friends and me, and that image made its way into major newspapers and television news programs, including Rachel Maddow.
